Patients who visit my Beverly Hills practice are able to learn of their dental treatment during an initial consultation. Typically, these individuals have read about the procedure on my website and come in with further questions to make their final decision. At this time, we also discuss specific care that should be taken after the procedure. Because each treatment is personalized to meet each patient’s specific needs, after-care instructions are highly customized.
As each patient undergoes his/her cosmetic dentistry treatment, I emphasize that it is imperative to follow post-operative care. This allows for proper healing and ensures optimal results for the patient. Depending on the procedure performed, patients may only require one follow-up visit, such as teeth whitening. More extensive treatments may necessitate multiple visits to be sure that all is healing well and prevent infection and/or complications. These may include dental implants and porcelain veneers. Ongoing treatments such as Invisalign ® braces entail regular check-ups to track progress and exchange the trays.
Helping you achieve your ideal smile is my goal and I look forward to discussing your options during the consultation. If you would like to learn more regarding the cosmetic dental treatments available, be sure to browse my website at www.90210dentist.net.

Your dental health, like your physical health, is of great importance; however, some medications that may be prescribed by a medical physician can lead to negative effects on the teeth. As a result, I often treat patients who wish to restore their smile to a more aesthetically pleasing appearance. When visiting my Beverly Hills practice, I am sure to inquire about any and all medications that are being taken in order to recommend the most appropriate treatment plan.
Some of the most common side effects of certain medications include dry mouth, abnormal overgrowth of gum tissue, and enamel staining. As a result of an overly dry mouth, the pH is decreased in the mouth, which can increase the plaque formation and the risk of tooth decay. Abnormal gingival growth can be caused by several calcium channel blockers, a class of medications very commonly used in treating hypertension. Some anti-seizure medications can also cause this side effect. A component of tetracycline can cause enamel stains. In order to treat/prevent these negative features, patients should drink plenty of water throughout the day and maintain dental check-ups every three or four months. Staining can be reversed with whitening treatments, porcelain veneers, or crowns.

Do you suffer from temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ)? If your jaw is misaligned and causes you pain, then you may be an ideal candidate for TMJ treatment. At my Beverly Hills practice, I offer the most up-to-date techniques for patients who want to alleviate this problem. Through cosmetic dentistry, a person’s jaw can be repositioned and TMJ symptoms can be diminished.
When meeting with patients, I thoroughly examine their oral structure and take X-rays in order to determine the cause of TMJ. Oftentimes, teeth grinding (bruxing) and clenching can lead to tension in the jaw, which may swell and cause difficulty when opening and/or closing the mouth. To relieve joint pain and protect the teeth from enamel attrition, patients are recommended to wear occlusal guards. These can prevent the teeth from grinding at night and wearing down the enamel; in some cases, this guard may be necessary during the day time. In addition, a dental makeover may be another step to correcting TMJ symptoms. Braces or Invisalign ® trays, porcelain veneers, dental implants and crowns are available at my practice.
You may learn more regarding these procedures by browsing my website at www.90210dentist.net. We can discuss your options during an initial consultation in order to create a personalized treatment plan.

A popular trend amongst the younger generation is having an oral piercing – tongue, lip, or cheek. At my Beverly Hills practice, I often see patients who have removed their piercing for various reasons and have been left with unpleasant side effects. Some of these include chipped teeth, gum recession, site infection, scar tissue, speech impairment, and alveolar bone damage.
The first step to correcting/repairing these undesirable features is to remove the piercing permanently. Once you are ready to take the next step, we can begin with a full evaluation of your dental structure and customize a treatment plan. Typically, I first look for gum disease and recession, which can be treated with gingival grafting. Once we have treated this area and a healthy gum line is established, we can focus on the teeth. Those who have chipped teeth may be ideal candidates for porcelain veneers. My goal is to help you regain a sparkling, natural-looking smile through cosmetic dentistry, as well as maintain proper dental health.
If you have removed an oral piercing and would like to learn of your options regarding dental reconstruction, you may browse my website for further information. I welcome you to schedule an appointment at my Beverly Hills office.
